Internet on the plane.

I definitely am a technology enthusiast, I love technology. I am also usually an early adopter, however still some marvels of technology don't cease to amaze me.

Let's take for example Internet on the plane. You are cruising high up in the sky and are able to browse the web through your device. On one hand it is a bit scary - even the most remote places on earth that used to be free of always-online, omni-connected world now are occupied by dark tentacles
of the Net.

But if you really love it or are simply addicted it's great :).

First impressions.

Think about the moment when you enter a new building, see a new place or check into a hotel you've never visted before. This first impression when the place feels strange, ackward, new. Like a piece of clothing that is not that comfortable or simply unfamilliar.

I like the comparison between this first ackward moment and a bit later - the third, fourth day in some place when you've already got used to your surroundings and they are starting to feel familiar, known, yours. Some places than start feeling like at home, others feel out of place and it takes huge amount of time to change this.

But even with places that feel like home you feel that little sadness when thinking about the first time you've experienced this place - the oddness, freshness, outworldly feeling it gave you.

That's why it's so good to travel to new places you've never been before...

Running in Central Park.

I started running in 2009. First easy running, in 2010 it got a bit more intensive and finally I ran a marathon in 2011 and have been running ever since.

When you're a runner there are places in the world that are simply a must-run. One of those places is Central Park. It's one thing to read about it and a completely different story to actually run in it. Turns out the way is not flat but you are constantly running like a wind down hill or struggling uphill. It's hard to get that just by watching google maps. Another thing is: people. Running in Central Park feels like you were taking part in some organized run that got extended to... everyday :).

When you're a runner in NYC: go run in central park! But than again - you probably already have that on your to-do run check list.

Central park run: CHECK!

Jetlag

I never reacted well to jetlag. It usually took me around 3 days to get adjusted to the new time-zone. This time it was surprisingly much different. Travelling with a family is the best! The second day in New York feels almost like at home.

A380

One of the highlights of this trip is definitely the a380 flight - a first for all of us. Being the aviation geek it was simply a must. The plane feels like an S-class Mercedes. There's plenty of leg room, great entertainment system and what feels like a really smooth ride.

Uber

Been thinking wheather to take the taxi or Uber. Had some doubts if Uber would be available @4.30 in the morning. Turns out there were no problems. I chose Select and the BMW 530 drove in after 4 mins.

Perfect service, proffessional, natural, easy-going driver. Very nice. Keep up the good work Uber!

All packed up!

I hate packing! It's just a stressful, unproductive, boring, tiresome activity. I always think I am forgetting something, but in fact I rarely am.

Backed up my iPhone and portable drive. Intresting how you have to go somewhere to do something you should really be doing regularly. 100 GBs left...

So... what did I forget?
